It’s hard to witness. It means making yourself vulnerable, and opening up on a subject that is always sensitive. Whether a person is a believer or not, talk of salvation leads to discussion of repentance, sinful nature and a general inadequacy. It means telling someone that they have a need; whether or not they see it. But, God has called us to go out into all the world, and make disciples of all men. Statistics show that one of the greatest ways to do that, is to invite someone to Church.
Did you know that according to Lifeway Research, 82% of unchurched people say that they would attend Church if someone invited them? I find that an amazing statistic. That means that if you invite someone to Church that doesn’t have a Church home, they are 82% likely to come. The sad part of that statistic is that last year, the same source says that only 21% of Church-goers invited someone.
Think about it. When was the last time you invited someone to Church? If every person in a congregation of 200 invited one person per six months, the statistics say that in one year, 328 unchurched people would come to Church, and hear the truth.
