We believe that God wants Dayspring to be a church that invites people to CONNECT to Christ and to each other. In an era in which people are lonelier than at any time in human history, God wants to use Dayspring to meet people in the midst of their isolation and connect them to an authentic community that cares deeply for them. God is calling Dayspring to be a church where people GROW in their relationship with Christ and their identity as a child of God. As we witness families struggle to remain together and individuals lose sight of God’s purpose for their lives, we believe God wants to use the Dayspring family to invite people into the transforming work of the Holy Spirit that can bring peace and balance to their lives in a way that nothing else can. Finally, God is calling Dayspring to actively LOVE our God and our neighbor. We can experience all the membership growth we could hope for, and enjoy all the new programs we could create, but if we don’t love well, then as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13, it’s all for nothing. If we can connect to Christ and grow in our faith, we will be well equipped to love as God would have us love, which will have eternal implications!
God’s plan to CONNECT, GROW and LOVE our community is you! I ask that you begin praying as a family as you thoughtfully consider investing in our shared vision with your time, energy, talent and finances in the coming year. As people who have been blessed richly by God in so many ways, we have an opportunity to return that blessing to the One who has been so generous toward us.
On Sunday, October 26th, we will take a few moments during worship to pray together and celebrate the work God has done and will continue to do through the Dayspring family in 2015. If you are unable to join us on that day, you may submit a commitment online at www.dayspringumc.com/welookforward or come by the church for coffee anytime to fill out your 2015 commitment card in person.
I look forward to all that the Holy Spirit will do with our resources as we offer our lives and our Church to God! It’s an honor and a privilege to be your pastor; I’m blessed every day by your faithfulness!
Peace in Christ,
