Whitehouse City Hall met today concerning the relief efforts underway, and to clarify the needs in the area. Dayspring sent a representative to attend, and we just got this text back:
I’ll email more details later. Right now what the city is in need of is volunteers to walk the streets and pass out a form. They need them completed and turned in ASAP. The city is trying to get this declared a disaster area. They are doing this from 4-8ish not after dark until it’s done. I’ll email out more info later about coming to do work at anytime. They need both.
If you have free time this afternoon, please comment on the blog or Facebook post (so that we have a head count), and then head to Whitehouse City Hall to pick up some of the forms. They can then direct you to one of the disaster areas. Again, this is from 4pm – 8pm today, (Tuesday, May 3). Fire Chief Madison Johnson is in charge of disaster efforts.
