When I Met Jesus: Aaron Laird

How much influence do you think your words and actions have on others? Studies have shown that parents and those who teach children and youth have an inordinate influence on who they are and who they will become. Because we have this kind of influence we also have a responsibility to put them in a position where they can meet Jesus and have a meaningful experience with God.

Questions for discussion:

  • What do you think was the main point of Matt’s message?
  • What about Aaron’s story resonates with you, personally?
  • What does the synagogue leader’s willingness to allow Jesus to heal his daughter teach us about sharing our story?
  • What types of opportunities/interactions are you utilizing to introduce your children to Jesus?

Do something about it:

Think about establishing a regular, specific time and place when your family can talk about who Jesus is and what you believe. Look for “teachable moments” when introducing them to an experience with God will be both memorable and have a lasting impact.
